Police said 50-year-old Armando Rengifo Sanchez Sr., fled in March after the mother of his child, Cindy Sorto-Reyes, was found shot and killed after a domestic dispute.
Police said 50-year-old Armando Rengifo Sanchez Sr., fled in March when Cindy Sorto-Reyes, the mother of his child, was shot and killed after neighbors in the 5900 block of Cherrywood Terrace complained of a loud argument coming from her apartment.
Neighbors in the 5900 block of Cherrywood Terrace called police to complain of a loud argument coming from Sorto-Reyes’ apartment. When officers arrived, the found the doors locked. They knocked but no one answered.
A short time later, dispatchers received a second call saying there might be a shooting victim inside the house. Police forced their way inside and discovered the 20-year-old Sorto-Reyes, suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Sanchez was gone and hasn’t been seen since.
“He went missing right after the murder,” said Matt Burke, supervisory inspector with the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force. “We’re trying to develop information, get new leads.”
Sanchez owned and rented multiple properties in D.C. and Maryland. Authorities have conflicting reports that he’s been seen in the area or he may have left the country.
Sanchez is wanted for first-degree murder. He is 5-feet 7-inches tall, 170 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. He was last seen driving a white 2001 Chevrolet commercial van, Maryland tags 95T395. He may be armed and should be considered dangerous.

The Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, run by the U.S. Marshals Service, is composed of 28 federal, state and local agencies from Baltimore to Norfolk, Va. The unit has captured 17,000 wanted fugitives since its creation in 2004.
