Redskins to broadcast all games in Spanish starting Sunday on ESPN Deportes AM 730

Washington fans gets their Redskins games in Spanish

The Washington Redskins have joined a select group of NFL teams that broadcast their games in Spanish. Red Zebra owned ESPN Deportes 730 (WXTR-AM) will broadcast every game in Spanish, beginning this weekend with the home opener. The Redskins- Saints game will start at1pm on the new Spanish Sports talker.

The play by play will be done by Raul Saenz and color commentary by Redskins analyst, Jorge Andres. The station plans a 30 minute pre-game show along with a 30 minute post game show also starting this weekend and continuing throughout the entire season. It is the Spanish version of Laryy, Sonny and Sam. But it should be a great boost to area Redskins fans who want to follow the team.

Color analyst Jorge Andres Alfaro, who is also Manager of Operations for ESPN Deportes 730 had this to say about his new assignemnt: “There is a tremendous Redskins fan base within the Hispanic community in this area and we are truly honored to serve these die hard fans by bringing them Redskins play- by- play, live and in Spanish .”

When asked about the new outlet for Redskins radioBruce Gilbert, CEO of Red Zebra Broadcasting commented, “We are thrilled to offer the exciting Spanish radio play-by-play of Washington Redskins football on ESPN Deportes 730. It has been our goal to expand our sports brand to the rapidly growing Hispanic community. As the first all Spanish, all sports radio station in the market, ESPN Deportes 730 is the home for passionate sports talk, live choice soccer matches, and now the Washington Redskins with Raul and Jorge.”
