The Style Guy

We ran into House Majority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, at the GQ/Makers Mark party on Tuesday, so we couldn't help but ask him how he always looks so, well, GQ.

Ah, if it isn't effortless. "Off-the-rack, middle-of-the-road" suits, he explained, emboldened by brighter, pastel ties. The final piece? "Brooks Brothers Non-Iron shirts, which I do myself." Dry cleaners just ruin shirts, he offered.

Also spotted at the posh affair: Luke Russert, Fox News's Jim Angle, Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., Democrat Harold Ford Jr., former RNC chief Ken Mehlman, Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt, Makers Mark head honcho Bill Samuels Jr., and the biggest surprise, University of Minnesota hoops coach Tubby Smith.

Smith and Samuels, it turns out, became good friends when Smith coached the University of Kentucky, just a short drive from the Makers Mark distillery.
